Game of Thrones Season 5 Finale Viewership

The numbers are in for the season 5 finale of Game of Thrones, and they are outstanding.  "Mother's Mercy" was viewed on its initial airing by 8.11 million people, breaking the record, initially set by the season 5 premiere, as the most watched episode of Game of Thrones.

With the way the season has been going, in terms of its viewership, I wasn't sure that "Mother's Mercy" would be able to reach this milestone.  But, as history has shown us, the season finale of Game of Thrones always comes through with a record breaking viewership.

So are you surprised with the perfomance of "Mother's Mercy"?  Leave your thoughts on this topic in the comments below!

Season 5 of Game of Thrones is over, but HBO hasn't left us without their bonus videos.  For this weeks episode, "Mother's Mercy", we have 3 bonus videos.  The first of the videos is David Benioff and Dan Weiss going inside the episode and breaking down key scenes from the episode.  Next we have George R.R. Martin talking about Cersei's walk of atonement.  And finally we have Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Nell Tiger Free, and Indira Varma talking about Myrcella's farewell.
