Locus Award Nomination

The Locus Science Fiction Foundation has just announced the finalists for the 2014 Locus Awards.  The Princess and the Queen, the novella by George R.R. Martin in the Dangerous Women anthology, has been nominated for Best Novella.

The other nominees for Best Novella are:

  • Black Helicopters - By: Caitlin R. Kiernan
  • Precious Metal - By: Robert Reed
  • Six-Gun Snow White - By: Catherynne M. Walente

The winners will be announced during the Locus Awards Weekend in Seattle WA, June 27-29, 2014.

Dangerous Women Are Here


The wait is over and the time is here!  Dangerous Women is finally released…well at least in the US.  Dangerous Women includes a 35,000 word novella, The Princess and The Queen, by George R.R. Martin.  The novella is about the Dance of the Dragons, a civil war between Aegon II Targaryen and his half-sister Rhaenyra Targaryen, fighting over their Fathers, Viserys I Targaryen, Throne.

I can’t wait to get my hands on this book and jump back into some fresh new tales from the amazing world of Westeros.

The Princess and The Queen Excerpt has finally released an excerpt from George R.R. Martins upcoming novella "The Princess and The Queen."

This novella will reveal more history inside of  The Song of Ice and Fire world.  This story will take place in Westeros during the time known as the Dance of the Dragons, a destructive civil war over the iron throne.

Over at George R.R. Martin’s “Not a Blog", he has just posted the release date on a cross-genre anthology he is co-editing, along with Gardner Dozois, which will also include his own novella "The Princess and The Queen".  And unlike The Winds of Winter this date isn’t extremely far away, Dangerous Women will be available in hard cover December 3rd.
