"The Dance of Dragons" Viewership Breakdown

The numbers are in for the latest episode of Game of Thrones, "The Dance of Dragons".  And although they saw an increase, from the previous weeks episode, it was just by a hair.  "The Dance of Dragons" was viewed by 7.14 million people during its initial airing, an increase of 140,000 people, or just 2%.

I had expected to see "The Dance of Dragons" bring in closer to 8 million viewers.  But still its nice to see an increase in the viewership.  The only question this raises is whether or not the finale will bring in a higher number than the, record breaking, premiere for this season.  Looking at previous seasons, the season finale episodes have always preformed the best.

What do you think though?  Are you surprised with the viewership for "The Dance of Dragons"?  And do you think the final episode will break the record as the most viewed episode of the season?

Inside "The Dance of Dragons"

This week we have three bonus videos from HBO for their latest episode of Game of Thrones, "The Dance of Dragons".  George R.R. Martin returns this week to talk about the famous fighting pits of Meereen.  As well as the two actors Alexander Siddig and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau speaking on Doran's decision to trust Jaime.  And last but not least, we have the showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss breaking down the major moments of the episode - and they're are quite a few in this episode.

Behind the Scenes of the Battle at Hardhome

HBO has just released their latest bonus video, this tame taking us behind-the-scenes of the battle at Hardhome from the latest episode of Game of Thrones.  The video has commentary from showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss, the director of the episode Miguel Sapochnik, and also Kit Harington, Kristofer Hivju, Birgitte Hjort Sorenson, Ben Crompton, and several other crew members.

"Hardhome" Viewership Finally Rebounds

The fifth season of Game of Thrones has suffered from a constant loss of viewership since its, record breaking, premiere.  The last episode of Game of Thrones, " The Gift" saw this season at an all time low with 5.4 million viewers on its initial airing.  Making "The Gift" the first episode of Game of Thrones to drop into the 5 million's since 2013.

However with the latest episode, "Hardhome" it looks like the season is finally getting back on track with its numbers.  "Hardhome" was watched, during its initial airing, by 7 million people.  An extremely impressive 30% jump in viewership, from "The Gift".

Now who can say what caused this increase in viewership, but whatever it may be, it's good to see the show getting back on track with its numbers.  I'm sure we'll see a constant increase in viewership over the next 2 episodes.  Possibly seeing another record breaking season finale.

Inside "Hardhome"
