Game of Thrones Wins Two Saturn Awards

The 41st Annual Saturn Awards were held this past Thursday in Burbank, California.  The Saturn Awards are the premier organization in honoring and recognizing multi-genre entertainment.

This year Game of Thrones was nominated for three awards, and walked away with two wins.  Making this the first year Game of thrones has won a Saturn Award.  The first award was for Best Limited Run Television Series.  And the second was won by Maisie Williams for Best Performance by a Young Actor in a Television Series.  Emilia Clarke was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series, but lost to Melissa McBride from The Walking Dead.

Game of Thrones Nominated for 2 TCA Awards

The Television Critics Association (TCA) has just announced the nominations this week, for their annual awards.  The TCA recognizes outstanding achievements in television.  This year Game of Thrones has nabbed two nominations.

Outstanding Achievement in Drama

  • The Americans - FX
  • Empire - Fox
  • Game of Thrones - HBO
  • Justified - FX
  • Mad Men - AMC

Program of the Year

  • The Americans - FX
  • Empire - FOX
  • Game of Thrones - HBO
  • Man Men - AMC
  • Transparent  - Amazon

It should be interesting to see how Mad Men preforms, since it was the series final season this year.  And it's also pretty interesting to see Transparent nominated for Program of the Year, I believe this is Amazon's first ever TCA nomination.

So who do you think will win these two awards? Will the final season of Mad Men sweep the brackets, or do you think Game of Thrones, or any other show, has a chance of winning the awards?

Game of Thrones Nominated for Golden Globes

Game of Thrones Nominated for Golden Globes

The nominees for the 72nd Golden Globe Awards have been announced and Game of Thrones is among the nominees.

Game of Thrones has been nominated for Best TV Drama Series.  Among the other nominees are Downton Abbey, The Affair, House of Cards, and The Good Wife.  In the past Game of Thrones has been snubbed when it comes to the Golden Globes, and I think we can clearly see that again this year.  I really thought that Peter Dinklage would once again be nominated for Best Supporting actor, like he was in 2012.  The winners for the 72nd Golden Globe Awards will be announced January 11, 2015.
