We have our next casting update for Season 4. Joseph Gatt, who has previously been in Cinemax's Banshee and Stark Trek Into Darkness, has landed a role for Season 4.
There is no confirmation as to what his role is, but there is strong speculation that he will be playing Styr the Magnar of Thenn. Gatt's Facebook page has revealed that he has already finished up filming in Iceland, as well as that he is going to be appearing in 4 episodes.
If it's true that Gatt is playing Styr I will be very pleased. I think he fits the description very well of Styr in almost every aspect (well maybe he has to many ears.)
So who is Styr, the Magnar of Thenn? Well first lets get this out of the way, Styr is his name, and Magnar of Thenn is his title. Magnar means 'lord' in the Old Tongue, the Old Tongue being the language brought over by the First Men. The language has died out in Westeros, only being spoken in the lands beyond the Wall. The last part of his title, Thenn, is the region where he is from. Thenn is the northernmost area beyond the Wall, resulting in a very tough breed of people. So now that you understand his title, there's not to much else you really need to know.
Expect some epic scenes with him this season.
