We finally have a complete list of the directors for Season 4. And I’m pretty excited with what i see.
- Episode 1: David Benioff & D.B. Weiss
- Episode 2, 3, 8, 10: Alex graves
- Episode 4, 5: Michelle MacLaren
- Episode 6, 7: Alik Sakharov
- Episode 9: Neil Marshall
David Benioff and D.B. Weiss - the creators of the show, as well as the main writers for the episodes. David Benioff directed Walk of Punishment, Season 3 Episode 3.
Alex Graves - Alex made his first appearance on Game of Thrones for Season 3. Where he directed both episodes 4 and 5; And Now His Watch is Ended and Kissed by Fire. Both of these episodes I thought were amazingly shot, and I’m very glad they have given him even more episodes to do for season 4.
Michelle MacLaren - Michelle similar to Alex made her first appearance on Game of Thrones for Season 3. She directed Episode 7, The Bear and the Maiden Fair; As well as Episode 8, The Second Sons. Both episodes were good including the famous scenes of Tyrion and Sansa’s wedding, as well as the fight scene between Brienne and the bear at Harrenhal.
Alik Sakharov - Alik made his first appearance in Season 2, Episode 3 with the episode What Is Dead May Never Die. Which included the amazing scene including Tyrion and the small council transitioning from scene to scene. And he also directed Season 3, Episode 6 The Climb.
Neil Marshall - Neil returning from his last apperance in Season 2, Episode 9 the famous Blackwater episode. He will be returning to do Season 4’s Episode 9, which Game of Thrones episode 9’s have a reputation for being the big episode in the season. For my thoughts on his Season 4 episode click here.
