Is Game of Thrones Going to the Big Screen?

This past week George R.R. Martin had an interview with The Hollywood Reporter wherein George mentioned the idea of Game of Thrones possibly heading for the big screen.  When George was asked about the likeliness of Game of Thrones on the big screen he answered with:

It all depends on how long the main series runs, Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eight? Do we run for 10? The books get bigger and bigger (in scope). It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know.

It would appear that Game of Thrones is not the only title in talks of heading for the big screen.  George also mentioned the possibility of the Dunk and Egg novellas heading in the direction as well.

They could be the basis for [a film], I have written these three stories, and I have about a dozen more.

That's right folks you heard it!  A dozen more Dunk and Egg stories, how amazing is that?  Now as for the films I personally would feel a lot more comfortable with a Dunk and Egg movie as compared to that of wrapping up the Game of Thrones series on a different outlet than HBO.

So what about you?  Would you like to see whoever survives till the end of Game of Thrones on the big screen?
