New Season 4 Images

We get some more images from the upcoming season of Game of Thrones, courtesy of Sky Atlantic.

I definitely think the most interesting image is that of Joffrey flipping through the pages of the White Book.  The White Book contains the deeds of each knight who has served as a member of the Kingsguard.  This will surely turn out to be another great show created scene between Joffrey and Jamie.

Entertainment Weekly Exclusive New Images

Entertainment Weekly has just released 6 new exclusive images for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones.  With this collection of images we get a few new shots images we haven't yet seen in the trailers so far.  The most notable is the close up shot of Daenerys on her throne accompanied by Ser Jorah and Barristan.  But hands down my favorite image out of the set is the one with Arya.

So which picture is your favorite?

Styr the Magnar of Thenn Cast

That’s right casting news is still coming out as filming is just wrapping up. HBO has officially announced through Entertainment Weekly that Yuri Kolokolnikov will be taking the reins of Styr in season 4.

So who is Styr, the Magnar of Thenn?  Well first lets get this out of the way, Styr is his name, and Magnar of Thenn is his title.  Magnar means ‘lord’ in the Old Tongue, the Old Tongue being the language brought over by the First Men.  The language has died out in Westeros, only being spoken in the lands beyond the Wall.  The last part of his title, Thenn, is the region where he is from.  Thenn is the northernmost area beyond the Wall, resulting in a very tough breed of people.  So now that you understand his title, there’s not to much else you really need to know.

Three-Eyed Raven Cast

Three-Eyed Raven Cast

The latest bit of cast news is here, and this one comes as quite a shocker.  According to Straun Rodger’s CV he will be taking on the role of the Three-Eyed Raven.

So far in A Game of Thrones there is not much information about the Three-Eyed Raven, aside from the fact that it has been visiting Bran’s dreams ever since he was pushed from the tower at Winterfell all the way back in season 1.

I’m a bit surprised in a way to see that they have already cast the Three-Eyed Raven, as he doesn’t make a full appearance until A Dance with Dragons.  But of course with the way they have sped up Bran’s story line, reaching the Wall at the end of season 3, it makes sense that things would have to start happening sooner.

As far as Straun goes I think he looks perfect for the role of the character.  And Straun an experienced actor, so I think he will do a fantastic job with the role.

Spoilers ahead if you haven't read A Dance with Dragons.
